Q: Does Hutchfields offer shipping?

A: Yes, we offer shipping within British Columbia. We also offer same day pick up in North Delta, please ensure that you check out with the right option. If the user mistake is found and fixed and pick up cannot be arranged we will automatically add $15 for shipping and ship the order ASAP. 

If you live in another province please contact us to inquire about shipping rates. International shipping is currently unavailable at this time. Please bare with us as we figure out a future shipping option.

Q: Refund/return policy?

A: We do not offer returns or refunds, exchanges or credit.
The moment the plant or merchandise leaves our shop the responsibility is left on the owner. This is especially applicable to plants. If a plant is dead on arrival then we will look through our documented video of the specific order and determine whether a unforeseen possibility may have occurred.  Due to increased risk’s with hygiene we will not be accepting returns on cosmetics or soaps for safety.

Q: Quality assurance of plants?

A: We take pride with our plants and we have 8 years in growing. Professionally hands on at one of Canada’s largest plant wholesalers for tropicals and perennials. And now at home on our own. A lot of people have mentioned about purchasing second hand plants. We personally don’t recommend it especially if you are new to growing, that reason being that it takes a lot of skill and patience that might be intimidating to new plant parents. Factoring in that pests, malnutrition, root rot, poor soil, bad drainage, stubborn species, not enough light, over/under watering  or miscalculated dormancy of plants can play to a large disadvantage to new plant parents. We ensure maximum growth when available,  pest free with organic and natural remedies and our favorite, taken care of with love and respect.

Q: Plant Origins?

A: Plants are acquired on Canadian soil or when imported they are from sustained resources and non abusive work conditions. It’s sad that during the pandemic it drove illegal plant poaching to new extremes where members in other countries were ripping out parts of our fragile rainforest and our deserts. Hurting many ecosystems in the process. Hutchfields acquires seeds from independent growers with well received feedback from community or commercial businesses. Our live plants were acquired through tissue culture, or independent growers and commercial.

Please ensure that if you do buy imported plants, you ask if its acquired legally. Many sellers will tell you yes when in fact it can be backed by shady business practices or illegally obtained through environmental destruction.

Q: Information on soaps and cosmetics? 

A: We at Hutchfields have never believed in “More is better” for skin care routines. The less we put on our the skin the better. We strive to make products that are skin related, to be the best quality and the less ingredients possible. Our soaps and skin products will never cause irritation and are safe for sensitive skin types, but please always test prior to continual use. We use a modified melt and pour from a independent local supplier who sells top of line ingredients that renders our product Gluten free, cruelty free and vegan. We add a touch of our own personal ingredients and modify the base to be even more skin friendly. We will be carrying other soaps that will contain different ingredients and made from scratch. If a product is made from certain animal products it will always be listed. Due to increases risk’s with hygiene we will not be accepting returns on cosmetics or soaps for safety. 

Q: Quality assurance of gems?

A: Having collected and privately sold gems for numerous years we eventually developed a knack for properly identifying the real from fake. We have worked with professionals in the field and professional hobbyist that collect gems. We ensure that we will never sell fake stones as spotting fakes has become very obvious over the years. Our stones are purchased in Canada, U.S.A, India, Australia and credible sources in China and Brazil. All the sellers are certified and specialize in certain geology ranges. They are purchased through private collections and occasionally wholesalers. WE DO NOT sell man made gems like Opalite, Goldstone, Fake Opal or anything remotely close to being made in a lab. We offer quality rough gems, jewelry grade and most importantly real.
